Reachable by the Route des Navigateurs and the Routes des Frontières, Saint-André-de-Kamouraska has an enviable geographical location right on the shore of the Saint-Lawrence River.
Facing Les Iles Pèlerins and featuring an approximately 12 km long shoreline, Saint-André-de-Kamouraska offers an exceptional environment to relax, take long walks or enjoy kayaking, rock climbing or bird-watching.
Access the St. Lawrence via various entry points in the village, including the l’Ancien Quai Park with its famous miniature lighthouse. The site features interpretative panels on local history and life near the marshes and near the tide gate (known as aboiteau in French), an exceptional mad-made construction.
Many buildings in Saint-André-de-Kamouraska are over a century old and feature superb architecture. Culture is also showcased at the Maison Culturelle Armand-Vaillancourt. The religious heritage is also present with the church and a place of worship dedicated to the Virgin Mary.
Further inland, reach the Chemin Mississippi or the cliffs overlooking the river for spectacular observation points.
