Built in 1805, Saint-André is the oldest church in Bas-Saint-Laurent and one of the 30 oldest in Quebec. It is one of the few Recollet-style churches to have remained unchanged.

It has been classified as a historic monument because of its high architectural quality.

The church is part of the Sacrés artisans (Sacred craftsmen) tour.
