Built in 1833, this elegant, authentic residence belonged to Jean-Charles Chapais (1811-1885), one of the Fathers of Canadian Confederation. It also housed Saint-Denis’ first general store. Recognized as a national historic site and classified as a heritage building, it is now a place to discover 19th-century bourgeois life.

Come and enjoy an immersive experience on a guided tour of the house or its historic gardens, home to a brand-new interpretation trail, the Jardin-Mémoire. Take part in activities for the whole family.
