Built in 1833, this elegant, authentic residence belonged to Jean-Charles Chapais (1811-1885), one of the Fathers of Canadian Confederation. It also housed Saint-Denis’ first general store. Recognized as a national historic site and classified as a heritage building, it is now a place to discover 19th-century bourgeois life.
