Description

Discover the great families of craftsmen who created our churches, and let their walls tell you their secrets!

The Sacrés artisans tour aims to showcase the rich religious heritage of the Kamouraska – Rivière-du-Loup – Témiscouata – Les Basques (KRTB) region by bringing the skilled artisans behind these grandiose monuments out of the shadows. Accompanied by the Conseil du patrimoine religieux du Québec, the project’s sponsor, the 4 MRCs, as well as the Ville de Rivière-du-Loup are joining forces to reveal the behind-the-scenes story behind the construction of 9 of their most beautiful churches.

After decades of touching the sky, these temples remain as fascinating as ever, thanks to the skill of the people who built them, stone by stone, and the meticulousness and mastery of those who decorated them. Sacrés artisans showcases the architects, sculptors and painters who helped build these churches and create their interiors.

The tour is free and open all year round.
